Portland Institute for Contemporary Art’s 12th annual Time-Based Art Festival (TBA), September 11-21, 2014, will feature the French show, Germinal, one of the most talked-about shows on the international arts circuit.
Germinal is led by Frenchmen Antoine Defoort and Halory Goerger, self-described “musicians, actors, philosophers, pranksters, artists, and inventors,” whose clever mix of visual art, theater, music, and sociology marked them as rising stars at the 2013 Avignon Festival.
Germinal will be performed live in Portland at PSU on Sept. 18 and 19, in French (with projected English subtitles), and will explore how to rebuild human civilization using four-part harmony, pickaxes, microphones and more.
