Claudine Fisher is a French-American writer, known to Oregonians for her tenure as the Honorary Consul of France for the state of Oregon and as a Professor at PSU as well as for her steadfast support of the French-American community through the Alliance Française of Portland, French-American schools and other organizations.

For the past several years, Claudine has been at work on her series of historical fiction novels. Set in the turbulent period of the lesser-known 1848 revolution in France, the story chronicles a young Parisian craftsman’s journey and migration to Algeria.

The first of three volumes, the Reluctant Paris Rebel, was released in February 2016. The second, Southbound French Settlers, was released last month, and the third will be published later this year.

At this author event at the Alliance Française, Claudine will share her experience and motivation in writing these novels and will do a reading. The presentation will be mainly in English, with some French vocabulary.

Register here for Claudine Fisher on Friday, April 7 at 6:15pm at the Alliance Française’s Kamm House.

Free to Alliance members; $5 for non-members. (Not yet a member but wishing to consider it? Sign up on the same form as the event registration – quick and easy.)
